“Take You Back” – The Story

This week’s “Emotional Directions™ Words of the Week” is a very personal piece of mine. I had always wanted to create a lyric which conveyed the feeling of wanting to take a loved one back in time and personally showing them key moments of my life. So, as I began to write one day, a lyric started to form and take shape. This lyric ended up becoming “Take You Back.”
I recently began thinking of “Take You Back” as this past weekend was the anniversary of my grandmother’s (Granny as I called her) passing. She was such a supporter of me and loved me with all her heart and soul. There wasn’t one thing Granny wouldn’t do for me. Her death took a tremendous toll on myself and my family. However, I know she is always with me and her love lives on forever.
The other portion of “Take You Back” refers to an animal park I used to visit on a frequent basis when I was younger. I learned so much about nature and biology, while at the same time making friends and memories that will stay with me always.
I hope you enjoy “Take You Back.” I truly wish I could personally take each and every one of you back to those moments in time.

We’re Back, “Baby”!

After spending some time in Southern California for Thanksgiving this past week, we are now back and ready to work here at Emotional Directions™. With this return comes a new “Words of the Week”. This week I felt a happy, romantic lyric would help set things up for next month when Christmas and other holidays return to spread their cheer. Therefore, I have selected “Baby” as this week’s “Words of the Week.” Enjoy!
